He’ll take you through a protocol for conducting a client intake including a wide range of questions. This assignment will help you learn how to design a variety of sound treatments for someone — and give you an idea of what it would be like to run a healing center.
David will explain how to design a sound-bath concert, including dynamic flows, using intention and energy, and using silence in a session.
He’ll share a map of common types of sessions and describe the wide range of possibilities of what can happen during a session — including call and response, breathwork, and working with multiple people in a session.

Module 6: Concert Pitch & Tuning Systems — Choose Instruments to Heighten the Effectiveness of Your Sound Healings (August 15)
Many sound-healing practitioners prefer to not use sounds and music that are based on concert pitches. They prefer older tuning systems that are tuned to nature and resonate through the whole universe.
A tuning system is the frequency of each of the notes within a 12-note octave. As David will explain, prior to the 1700s, most cultures created tuning systems based on the mathematical harmonic series of sounds found throughout nature.
Concert pitch is the core frequency to which an instrument is tuned. The standard has been 440 Hz — although now, many sound healers and musicians are using 528 and 432 hertz. David will share the implications and uses of pitch and tuning.

- Why understanding concert pitch and tuning systems helps you choose instruments that are tuned to nature

About David Gibson
David Gibson is the founder and director of the Globe Sound Healing Institute in San Francisco (and online), offering individual classes and state-approved certificate programs in sound healing and sound therapy. He is the author of The Complete Guide to Sound Healing, and a producer of sound-healing music that is played in hospitals around the country.
